In the heart of an area of outstanding natural beauty, Bigbury On Sea nestles in Bigbury Bay. Open every day 10am to 4pm in winter (except 25th December), 9 to 6pm in July & August, 10 to 5pm for the rest of the year.
It is surrounded by acres of perfectly fine sand, the unique Burgh Island and has spectacular views across some of the best South Hams' coastline. Undoubtedly one of the South Hams' most stunning beaches.
Bigbury On Sea offers the ideal family day out. Wonderful sand for a perfect day on the beach. One of the South Coast's best locations for windsurfing, canoeing and dramatic coastal walks.
For the adventure lovers, ride the unique sea tractor and explore historic Burgh Island .
SEA:
Shallow waters for paddling. Rockpools for exploring. Lifeguards on duty during the season. Perfect for windsurfing, canoeing and boogie boarding, particularly at high tide. Water tested regularly.
BEACH:
Acres of golden sands at low tide. Perfect for sandcastles. Beach cleaned daily in the Summer.
THE VENUS CAFE:
Located right next to the beach. Wonderful views across the bay. Serving hot and cold food and drinks all day. Outdoor seating and takeaway. Open every day from 10am to 5pm from Easter to the end of October and from 10am to 4pm throughout the winter (except Christmas day). We operate extended hours during the summer holidays.
DOGS:
Restricted access. No dogs on main beach from 1 May to 30 September.
