Set in an unspoilt, sheltered bay amongst evergreens and pines is award winning Blackpool Sands - one of South Devon's most beautiful natural treasures. THE VENUS CAFE IS OPEN EVERY DAY (except Christmas day) OF THE YEAR. WINTER 10AM TO 4PM. OTHER TIMES OF THE YEAR 9AM TO 5PM.
In fact, with it's superb golden beach, turquoise blue sea and magnificent pines, it has an almost mediterranean feel. But don't just take our word for it, come and see for yourself. Venus is open every day of the year except Christmas day.
SEA:
Lifeguards on duty in July & August. Swimming, sailing, scuba diving, fishing and watersports. Water tested by the Environment Agency. Bathing raft from July.
BEACH:
Cleaned daily in the summer. Sand pits for sand castles - (available from May, weather permitting).
THE VENUS BEACH SHOP:
All you need for a great day on the beach. Buckets & spades, nets, inflatable boats, turbo & fun tubes, boogie boards, fins, masks, snorkels, wetsuits, swimsuits, footballs, frisbees, cricket bats, boules, beach shoes, sun cream, towels, wind breaks, beach mats, sunglasses, hats. Excellent range of clothes & accessories by Circle One, Sola, Cult, Weird Fish & Earth Nymph. Deck chairs and windbreaks for hire.
WATER SPORTS :
Surf, ski, windsurfing, kayak, boogie board, wetsuit, snorkelling equipment. Instruction or hire by the hour or day.
THE VENUS CAFE:
Located right next to the beach. Open 9am to 9pm in July & August and 9am to 5pm Easter to the end of October. Breakfast is from 9-11 am every morning and our BBQ based evening menu is available from 6pm every day except Tuesdays in July & August. Stunning views of the sea and cliffs. Serving hot and cold food and drinks all day. Covered & outdoor seating - takeaway menu throughout the day.
DOGS:
No dogs permitted in the car park or on the beach.
