Venus supports Organic fortnight
A wake up invitation to enjoy an organic breakfast on Newquay’s Tolcarne Beach, is being extended to local people and holidaymakers by the Venus Company as part of the Soil Association’s Organic Fortnight celebrations which run until the 16th September.
The Soil Association is the UK's leading campaigning and certification organisation for organic food and farming. Venus is signed up to the organisation’s Catering Code of Practice and has been sourcing organic product for over eight years and now stocks over 30 organic lines from quality producers across Cornwall and Devon.
Michael Smith, Venus managing director said: “The Company is proud to be taking part in the Organic Fortnight as we strongly champion the organic ethos which gives us accurate knowledge of ingredients and the provenance of products. Supporting the organic breakfast promotion is a natural one for us, compatible to our own philosophy. It also encourages people to try out new organic products.”
Venus sources organic eggs, home cured sausages and bacon from organic large black pigs, organic baps, organic milk and organic hot and cold drinks and fruit juices. Cornish suppliers include Landrake Farm at Saltash and Roskillys with milk from Tregellast Barton Farm.
The Venus Organic Breakfast Menu is served between 10.00am and 12 noon every day until the 16th September. The Venus Café at Tolcarne Beach is open every day to the end of October to 5pm and every weekend during winter from 10am – 4pm. At Christmas, Venus opens every day: 26th Dec – 2nd Jan from 10am – 4pm.
