With five estuaries in the South Hams, ferries are an important and enjoyable way to get from place to place. If you're walking the South West Coast Path, they form an essential link across the estuaries. Because ferries are dependent on tides and weather, we advise that you check the times and availability of ferry services (apart from the Dartmouth to Kingswear passenger ferries which run every day all year round) before travelling - especially small 'walkers ferries' across the Avon and Yealm. Call the ferry operator, local harbour office or Tourist Information Centre for details. |
